Originally released in 1976 as a solo track by Brent Dowe, the lead singer of The Melodians, It Was Love receives a charming cover the same year by the relatively obscure female singer Bevy Mack.
Apart from a 12" split release with Carl Malcolm on Five Star and this single (also produced by Carl Malcolm), Bevy Mack left behind few recordings.
However, her sweet, adorable vocals combined with the nostalgic arrangement of this track arguably surpass the original, making it an absolute gem!
