Bob James, the artist who has provided the most sampling sources in history, releases his third album, as indicated by the title!
Grover Washington Jr., who also participated in "One" (One Night on Bald Mountain), is featured as a guest musician throughout this album.
The opening track is a cover of "One Mint Julep" an R&B hit from 1952, known in the Jazz world for the Count Basie Orchestra's performance. His original compositions include "Westchester Lady" a Jazz-Funk number with a riff reminiscent of Joe Sample's "In All My Wildest Dreams" played at 45 RPM, featuring some cool, mellow guitar cutting. Another highlight is "Storm King" which undergoes multiple changes in tempo and style, making it a popular track for sampling.
The final track, a cover of Harry Belafonte's "Jamaica Farewell" might make you wonder why, but it’s there nonetheless.
