Known for her husky singing voice that contrasted with her handsome features, the Japanese Janis Joplin from Fukuoka Tenjin, Lily, released her debut album "Tamanegi" in 1972 at the age of 20. This is the second press from 1975.
The album was produced by Nobuyuki Shinozaki and Koji Teramoto, who also worked with artists such as Maki Asakawa and Masahiro Kuwana. Arrangements were handled by Takasuke Kida of The Jacks. The musicians supporting the album include Jun Fukamachi (key), Hiro Tsunoda (ds), Takahiko Ishikawa (ag), Kimio Mizutani (eg), and Jun Suzuki (b).
Apart from the only cover song on the album, "Woke Up Blues" by Johnny Rush, all other tracks feature lyrics and compositions by Lily herself (except A3 "Nigaoe" by Toshihiko Hara and B5 "Samishikute" by Takayuki Yoshioka). Her lyrics, said to reflect her near-homeless lifestyle at the time, are strikingly raw and vivid.
The album includes the psychedelic feeling of A5 "Kataippo no Garasu no Kutsu" and the song she wrote at 15 years old, B3 "8-gatsu dake no Calendar" as well as the lively horn section in B6 "Tooku naru hodo" These elements create a remarkable work that transcends the typical four-and-a-half-mat folk, matching her unique lyrical world with an outstanding sound.

本作唯一のカヴァーであるA4のJohnny Rush「Woke Up Blues」以外全ての作詞と自身による作曲(A3「にがお絵」原沢としひこ、B5「さみしくて」吉岡たかゆき)で、路上生活者同然だったらしい彼女の詞が兎に角生々しい。
サイケなフィーリングのA5「片いっぽのガラスの靴」や15歳の時に作ったB3「8月だけのカレンダー」, ホーン隊が賑やかなB6「遠くなるほど」等、凡百の四畳半フォークに留まらない、彼女の詞の世界観とサウンドがマッチした素晴らしい作品でス！
