Original: Alton Ellis – Mad Mad The foundation for this iconic riddim was laid in 1967 by the "Mr. Soul of Jamaica" himself, Alton Ellis, with his soulful rocksteady anthem "Mad Mad".

スタワン(Studio One)特有の硬く尖ったサウンドが素晴らしく、力強いバックに支えられたアルトンの愁いを帯びたヴォーカルは今尚多くのファンを魅了してやまない。
その後はダンスホールの定番リズムとして多くのプロデューサーのもと、様々なヴァージョンがリリースされシーンを彩り、80年代はVolcanoやPower House、90年代はMassive Bからのヒット曲に使われ、2000年以降も注目のリリースが続いており、発表から40年余り経った現在でも絶大な人気を誇るファウンデーション・リディムです。
