Namy, the house music project led by Yutaka Takanami since 2008, has been steadily releasing tracks on prestigious labels like King Street Sounds and DJ Spen’s Quantize Recordings. For the 2020 limited-edition 7" single "Lookin' So Good" Takanami teamed up with guitarist Yuma Hara (a frequent collaborator on T-Groove projects), pianist/producer/mixer Yuki Kanesaka (aka monolog), and featured vocalist Ari De Leo.
The track pairs Ari's falsetto-driven vocals—blending seductive charm with a catchy, pop-infused melody—with a sleek modern disco-boogie arrangement. On the A-side, legendary "King of Re-edits" Danny Krivit, aka Mr. K, offers his masterful edit, elevating the song into a contemporary disco classic.
The B-side features a remix by San Francisco-based DJ/producer Funk LeBlanc. His version brings a breezy, urban sophistication with a synth-boogie feel that nods to CITY POP influences.
A double-sider must-have for disco and synth-funk enthusiasts!
