A 45 cut from “Turn Back the Hands of Time,” the highly acclaimed 1970 second album by Sam Cooke–influenced soul singer Tyrone Davis, often regarded as his definitive work.

The A-side, “I’ll Be Right Here,” is known among collectors as the source inspiration for The Techniques’ early reggae tune of the same title. While the melodies differ, the original version is a laid-back, nostalgic, and beautifully mellow number in its own right.

The flip side, “Just Because of You,” is equally refreshing and easy on the ears—a smooth, feel-good gem. A true double-sider!!
