Formed in the late 1960s and led by legendary Jamaican guitarist Earl 'China' Smith, Soul Syndicate played a crucial role in reggae history, releasing several albums including the acclaimed Harvest Uptown (1977). They also served as the backing band for icons like Niney The Observer, Keith Hudson, and Earl Zero. This 1978 7” single features Freddie McGregor on vocals for the A-side track, which opens with a minor-key intro before shifting into a smoky, quintessential reggae groove – a true good tune! The B-side, though titled differently, offers a classic Version take, emphasizing a deeper, dubbier vibe that is equally brilliant.
