The A-side, Letta Mbulu’s “What’s Wrong With Groovin’”, written by Hugh Masekela and said to be discovered by Gilles Peterson, is a gem. Jazzman Gerald, who reissued it, loved the track so much that he named the 2001 compilation he curated after it. The way the track builds from its downtempo groove into Letta Mbulu’s uplifting vocals is simply sublime! Owning an original copy of this would make anyone envious—it’s truly a reissue masterpiece and an Earth-classic.
On the flip side is Lorez Alexandria’s “Send In The Clowns”, a rare and stunning tune featured on the Japanese-produced album From Broadway To Hollywood. Both tracks are now practically unobtainable in their original forms—this is beyond a matter of money!
