Repping Yokohama, the hip-hop duo Cypress Ueno & Roberto Yoshino finally drop their much-anticipated 7-inch of the crowd favorite “Yossha Shassasu” (a.k.a. “Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu”)!
They’re neither hardcore nor nerdy—their style of “seriously messing around” recalls Scha Dara Parr, yet they’re no followers. With Ueno’s solid rap skills and Yoshino’s sharp track-making, they’ve carved out a lane entirely their own. Somehow, MC Cypress Ueno linked up with Tokyo Girls’ Style member Yuri Nakae to form the unit Ueno & Nakae.
The remix version featuring Nakae includes newly written lyrics, making the message of “Yossha Shassasu” even catchier and transforming it into a perfect party-ready male–female rap duet. And honestly, nothing shows their enthusiasm more than this jacket artwork.
ハードコアでもナードでもない、真面目にふざける3の線の感じはスチャのようだけどフォロワーではなく、サ上の確かなRAPスキルとロ吉のトラックメイキングで独自の路線を貫いている彼らですが、MCのサイプレス上野がどう繋がったのか東京女子流の中江友梨とユニット、サ上と中江を結成。
中江をフィーチャーしたREMIXバージョンは歌詞も書下ろし、「よっしゃっしゃっす」のメッセージがキャッチーになり、男女ラップで見事なパーティー仕様に仕上がりました。
