The lesser-known disco mogul Dominick J. Monardo, a.k.a. Meco Monardo, released his debut album "Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk" in 1982, and here’s the Japanese 45 cut from that album!
The A-side features the main theme of Star Wars, skillfully remixed with a disco arrangement that even incorporates R2-D2 sound effects, making it super accessible. Plus, it cleverly introduces John Williams' "Cantina Band" from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, showcasing some great musical taste. Fun fact: Masato Shimon even covered this track!
The B-side, boldly titled Funk, is the final track on the album and is undeniably the highlight—a prime breakbeat tune!
フリップの潔いタイトル「Funk」はアルバムのラストに収録されている曲ですが、ズバリ本命のブレイク・チューンでス!
