For music fans, this may be old news, but the album's greatness cannot be overstated. Produced by Herbie himself, along with David Rubinson & Friends, the participating musicians include Herbie's allies Benny Maupin, Alphonse Mouzon, Paul Jackson, Bill Summers, and others. As mentioned in previous posts, Kimiko Kasai is one of the few who can gather such an incredible lineup of artists. The tracklist alone is enough to get any music enthusiast excited. Starting with the titular track "Butterfly" which rivals the original in its quality, the album also features the exquisite chill track "Tell Me A Bedtime Story" by Quincy Jones, and a cover of Stevie Wonder's "As" Just seeing these titles is enough to raise one's excitement. Above all, the inclusion of "Maiden Voyage" speaks volumes about how deeply Herbie admired Kimiko Kasai. This album, a unique fusion of jazz and disco, is an unparalleled masterpiece!
