"Blow It Out" the fourth solo album by saxophonist Tom Scott, known as the bandleader of L.A. Express, was released in 1977.
Featuring an impressive lineup including Chuck Rainey (bass), Steve Gadd (drums), Ralph MacDonald (percussion), and Richard Tee (piano), the album consists mostly of Scott's own compositions and production. The album includes standout tracks such as the mellow tune B1 "Shadows" which is popular as a sampling source, and the opening track "Gotcha (Theme From Starsky & Hutch)" sampled by The James Taylor Quartet feat. Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, and Galliano in "The Theme From Starsky & Hutch" ('88), Big Pun in "Watch Those" ('00), and Chiens De Paille in "Resistance" ('04). Additionally, the album features B2 "You've Got The Feelin'" sampled by Big Mello in "Prime Time Live" ('04).
