Tinna ‎– Long Distance (ティナ ‎– ロング・ディスタンス)

Produced by Yasunori Soriyo, who was the leader of Sing Out, Jim Rock Singers, and Brown Rice. The sophisticated duo TINA, consisting of his former wife Tomoko Soriyo and Mariko Takahashi, also members of Brown Rice, released their debut album "Long Distance" in 1978.

This album fully utilizes connections in the United States, featuring Randy Bishop on piano, Victor Feldman on percussion, and Dan Ferguson, the guitarist from Rare Earth. Japanese contributors include lyricists Yū Aku and Kohei Oikawa from Rokumonsen.

The content includes songs like A1, A4, A5, B1, and B4 by the duo of Yū Aku and Yasunori Soriyo, A2 and B5 by the pair of Kohei Oikawa and Yasunori Soriyo, A3 and B2 by the former couple Tomoko and Yasunori Soriyo, and B3 by Melanie Stein and Yasunori Soriyo.

Standout tracks include the mellow samba-feeling "Newport Bay" (A3) and the emotionally rich "Watashi no Kare" (B1) with their harmonized vocals. Additionally, the funky disco tune "Little Bit Bad Thing" (B3) is also not to be missed!

シングアウト, ジム・ロック・シンガーズ, Brown Riceのリーダーだった惣領泰則(そうりょう やすのり)のプロデュース。そして同じくブラウン・ライスのメンバーだった元奥方である惣領智子と高橋真理子によるソフィスティケイテッド・デュオ、ティナの1978年リリースデビューアルバム「ロング・ディスタンス」
本作ではアメリカでのコネクションをフル活用、ピアノでランディ・ビショップ、パーカッションにヴィクター・フェルドマン、Rare Earthギタリストのダン・ファーガソン等、日本勢も作詞で阿久悠、六文銭の及川恒平が参加しています。
その内容は、A1,4,5,B1,4は阿久悠&惣領泰則、A2,B5が及川恒平&惣領泰則コンビ、A3,B2が惣領元夫妻、B3がメラニー・ステイン&惣領泰則のライティングで、秀逸なのはメロウ・サンバ・フィーリングのA3「Newport Bay」、二人の息の合ったハーモニーが聴ける込み上げ系のB1「私の彼」あたりでしょうか。それに負けず劣らずのファンキーDISCOチューンB3「Little bit bad thing」も聴き逃せないっス！
