Jessica (Jennifer) Williams is a pianist and composer from Baltimore who has been active in San Francisco since the mid-70s. This work is her second album, "Orgonomic Music" released on the minor label Clear Cuts.
Eddie Henderson also participates on trumpet and flugelhorn. Except for B2 "Dear Lord," all the tracks are original songs, with all but A2 "Krieselwelle" written by Jessica.
The songs she writes have a depth that is hard to believe came from a female composer, and right from the first track, "The Weapon of Truth" she delivers a spiritually powerful, masculine number. A2, which was likely composed by the bassist on this album, Kim Stone, is a beautiful ballad, a complete contrast from the opening track, featuring an enchanting bass melody that harmonizes wonderfully with Jessica's supple piano playing. Eddie's trumpet storms through A3 "Up the Entropy Slope" and A4 "Experiment XX" which showcase intense spiritual numbers with an improvisational development that leaves you breathless, making this an undiscovered 80's Jazz masterpiece.
B1 "Longing" is almost entirely dominated by Jessica's piano. B2 is a light and vibrant cover of Coltrane's "Dear Lord” and B3 "The Demise of Armored Man" once again sees Eddie's trumpet blaze, while the mysteriously titled B4 "To The Children of the Future" is a deeply compelling track, making this an extremely strong and underrated masterpiece with no filler tracks.

スピリチュアル・フィーリングの男前ナンバーを聴かせてくれます。前述A2のみ恐らく本作のベーシスト、キム・ストーンによる作曲で、冒頭曲とは一転、幻想的な音を奏でるベースとしなやかなジェシカのピアノプレイが実にマッチした好バラード。エディのトランペットが吹き荒れるA3「Up The Entropy Slope」, A4Experiment XX”は息もつかせぬインプロ的展開をみせる鬼スピリチュアル・ナンバーの「リバーズ・オブ・メモリー」と、知られざる80's JAZZ名演と存じます。
B1”Longing”はほぼジェシカ嬢によるピアノの独壇場。コルトレーン
「Dear Lord」を軽やか&鮮やかにカヴァーしたB2, 再びエディのペットが火を噴くB3「The Demise Of Armored Man」、タイトルからは想像し難いミステリアス・ナンバーのB4「To The Children Of The Future」と聴きごたえ十分、捨て曲なしの強力アンダーレイテッド名盤と存知ます。
