Paul Simon, the non-curly-haired half of Simon & Garfunkel, has influenced countless Japanese artists, from folk musicians like Masashi Sada to modern icons such as Kenji Ozawa and Scha Dara Parr. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Simon & Garfunkel in 1990, Paul also earned individual recognition in 2001 and was named one of Time magazine’s "100 Most Influential People in the World" in 2006.
Simon’s fifth solo album, "Still Crazy After All These Years" released in 1975, is widely regarded as one of the finest works of his career. Co-produced with Phil Ramone, the album features an all-star lineup of New York’s top session musicians, including S&G partner Art Garfunkel, Gordon Edwards and Steve Gadd (who would later form STUFF in 1976), Joe Beck, David Sanborn, Ralph MacDonald, Grady Tate, and accordionist Sivuca (who also appeared on the "JOY" soundtrack). Arrangements were handled by David Matthews and Bob James, creating a near-flawless production team. The album is characterized by its sophisticated and contemporary sound, with subtle R&B influences providing a perfect backdrop for Simon’s signature whimsical musical style. It’s often seen as a precursor to the fusion and AOR boom of the late ’70s and ’80s.
From a hip-hop perspective, the album’s standout A4 track, "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover," has been sampled by artists like Common ("Forever Begins") and Eminem ("Murder, Murder") and even appeared in MURO’s mixes.
Simply put, every song on the A-side is exceptional, making this album a timeless evergreen classic!

その内容ですが、R&Bの香りを漂わせるコンテンポラリーかつハイセンスなサウンドをバックに、ポールならではの飄々とした音楽世界が見事に表現された、所謂フュージョンやAORブームの先駆的な名盤と存知ます。
ヒップホップ目線では言えば
Common「Forever Begins」や
Eminem「Murder, Murder」などでサンプリングされ、MUROさんの
MIXにも収録されたA4「恋人と別れる50の方法」を収録。
