Odyssey’s 2nd album, Hollywood Party Tonight, was released in 1978.
The man in the lion costume holding up a glass on the cover—something seems different... Tony Reynolds has been replaced by Billy McEachern.
As for the sound, I previously mentioned in an article about their debut album that they had a charm different from that of the Savannah Band. However, in this album, it feels like they've come even closer to that style.
The producer remains the same as on the previous album, and most of the songs are again written by the Linzer & Randell duo. The musicians haven't changed much either, and Luther Vandross joins as a guest vocalist.
Odyssey’s albums from the 80s onwards were widely picked up in Free Soul compilations, making them particularly popular in Japan. However, this album and their debut seem to be surprisingly overlooked. Still, this is a great, homey record brimming with a lively party vibe, and AWC highly recommends it!

プロデューサーは前作と同じで、楽曲もほぼLinzer & Randellコンビによるもの。ミュージシャンもさほど変わりなく、ゲスト・ヴォーカルでルーサー・ヴァンドロスが参加しています。

フリーソウルで取り上げられ、日本では特に人気が高いわけですが、本作と
1stは意外に?日陰者的な存在。それこそアットホームなパーティー感に溢れたナイスなレコードで、AWCはオススメしまス。
